Bio

 

Calvin Jamison Jr was born in Blacksburg , Virginia. At a young age he was very interested in storytelling. Calvin was constantly reading and writing, a book never left his hands. Calvin’s dreams of becoming a novelist took a right turn when he attended a film camp at New Millennium Studios in Petersburg, Virginia. Calvin began making short films in High School, writing, directing and editing all of his own pieces. He continued following his passion at Hampton University, majoring in English and making films on the side. Calvin won the 2006 Honors College Special Benefactor’s Scholarship, which provided $10,000 for him to study film in Oxford, England. His thesis film, “Running” won the 2006 Sol Film Festival.
Calvin is a regular contributor to Project Resolution, a monthly film screening in Richmond, Virginia. Calvin also excels academically. He is Hampton University’s 2006 Nominee for the Rhodes Scholarship, holds the position of Mr. Sigma Tau Delta International English Honors Society, is an active member in the Honors College, and maintains a 3.78 GPA. Calvin’s goal is to write, direct and edit film and television projects with the aim of entertaining and enlightening his audience.
